Hi there! My name is Denise and I have been marketing and promoting businesses for the past twenty years. During that time I’ve spoken and worked with A LOT of business owners and companies at the very early stages of their journey. I have even helped establish three marketing departments from scratch for international companies that were once like yours: at the start-up stage.


Beware of the shiny object syndrome…

Over the years many of the people I’ve worked with requested my help when they started to feel overwhelmed and pulled in a thousand and one directions, seeking clarification on what steps and actions to take and how. Information overload and lack of focus have brought them to a place of total confusion. Each time I have taken them back to the very beginning – starting with the basics of marketing strategy and planning before going anywhere else. If not, all the fancy, latest and greatest marketing tactics you implement will only deliver mediocre results…


Back to basics: start with a solid foundation & build from there

In my experience, many small business owners don’t understand the fundamental basics of marketing and end up jumping headfirst into promoting their business without any insights, concrete goal and plan of action. Building a marketing campaign is like building a house: if the foundations aren’t strong there are going to be plenty of cracks and soon that house will collapse.

The purpose of this website is simply to educate and help small business owners on how to focus on the core basics – market research, persona development, branding, messaging development, and so on before doing anything else.


Mindset in marketing

I have also found that working on building a positive and growth mindset is of great importance, especially with those who are only just beginning their marketing and promotional efforts where self-doubt, fear, and uncertainty can stop or hinder their potential to reach their target audiences via blogs, videos, and interviews, for example. Having spent the past several years learning, developing and growing my own mindset, I can personally vouch for this. It has been of tremendous benefit to me in all areas of my life.


A bit about my journey

I have worked in marketing and communications for the past 20 years, most of that spent in corporate roles running marketing and communications for international companies. I am also a member of the marketing mentor panel with bizmentors® in Galway – a mentoring programme for business owners and start-up / emerging businesses throughout Ireland.

I have a Bachelors Degree (Honors) in Business Studies and Hotel Management, and a Diploma in both Digital Marketing and Social Media. I am currently undertaking a Diploma in Executive & Life Coaching. To stay on top of the ever-changing world of marketing, I am always learning something new. In the past few years, I have completed several courses including online PR, digital marketing, social media marketing, email marketing, SEO, public speaking, the psychology of selling, goal setting, journalism, and media training, to name a few.

Oh, and did I tell you that I am fluent in French? I spent most of my career working for companies based in Switzerland, returning home to Ireland for good in 2015.

I’m also a proud mom of a beautiful 12-year girl.
